Macau
Here come the pictures of my little escapade to Macau. Lying 65km to the west of Hong Kong (about one hour boat), Macau is a city of duality. Its fortresses, churches and the culinary traditions of its former Portuguese colonial masters lead to a uniquely and striking Mediterranean style on the China coast. These are intermixed with the customs, alleys, temples and shrines of its Chinese heritage. On the other hand, the Special Administrative Region (SAR) of Macau is the ‘Vegas of the East’, the only place in China where gambling is legal.
From an artistic viewpoint, it was a joy to explore/photograph the so many UNESCO sites around the Old Town and especially Senado Square, the Sao Paulo Ruins and Fortaleza Do Monte. Last but not least, I thank all the nice habitants of Macau and its visitors I met there and who allowed/invited me to photograph them.
