Lebanon
Here come the photos of my scientific trip to Lebanon. Being at the crossroads of the Mediterranean Basin and the Arabian hinterland, this Near Eastern country is characterized by an intriguing and interesting religious and ethnic diversity. The first striking aspect that you notice there is the ultra high security, that is right now especially reinforced due to the many recent (terrorist) attacks. As far as I am concerned, I was caught by a group of young decided bearded men dressed in civilian clothes (Hezbollah militia) thinking that I was a press photographer. They interrogated and controlled me during one and a half hour and let me go in one piece.
This being said, Lebanon has fascinating picturesque sites and is a must-see for the photographer and/or curious tourist. I was amazed by cities such as Beirut, Saida in the South, or Harissa in the North (Our Lady of Lebanon shrine, the view over Jounieh). Last but not least, I thank Juliana for all she did to make my stay in Lebanon a sweet dream. Shoukrane!
